Deric and Bri used to be stand up comedians, which is how Patrick came to know them. They had also had their own podcast, Caked On Stripes. "Caked" came from the fact that Bri worked in a bakery making cakes, and "Stripes" was a result of Deric's "striped" beard that he had at the time.

Patrick began to recommend Caked On Stripes to the listeners of Nobody Likes Onions, and it gained some faithful followers. At one point Patrick jokingly complained that Caked On Stripes was stealing NLO Alpha fans, such as LEVENDUS and Adam's Mom. NLO and COS exchanged many voicemails, although Patrick seems to have left more for COS. He would either call in with a fabricated character and voice, or call in as himself, and mention NLO and its website as many times as possible.

When they appeared in studio for Episode 303, the topics of discussion included what happened to their podcast, what their marriage is like, and how Bri has a crazy "raw food" diet that she subjects Deric to.
