Help NLO Get Listed In iTunesThis is a featured page

In September of 2005, Nobody Likes Onions was removed from the Apple iTunes Store's podcast section. There was no reason provided to NLO or the fans as to why this occurred. All efforts to try to contact Apple employees have been ignored, or responded to only with generic form emails that don't address the problem at all. Apple is preventing all users from re-submitting NLO to the directory, and furthermore, if NLO is listed under another name, it is promptly removed.

The iTunes podcast directory is the primary source for most podcasts to get listeners. NLO would be wildly more popular if it were listed in it's fair position amongst other shows that are far more obscene and offensive.

We're asking our loyal listeners to begin letting Apple know that you'd like to get NLO back in the iTunes Store podcast directory. The only way to do this is through persistence.

If you'd like to help, consider sending a daily email - no more than one per day - to the Apple podcast team at podcasts@apple.com. Websites such as www.lettermelater.com can easily help you achieve this. Sending a one-time letter will help too, but the more people who join the march and send daily emails, the better. It's the only way we will be heard.

Please keep your emails simple and polite - rudeness, insults, profanity or threats will not help our cause.

Here is a sample letter:

To Whom It May Concern:

I am a fan of a podcast called Nobody Likes Onions. Last year, it was removed from the iTunes Store podcast directory, and all efforts by the show's creators and fans like me to get it relisted have been ignored or unsuccessful.

Being listed in iTunes is vital to a podcast's ability to attract new listeners. NLO has followed all of the terms of service required of them, and their feed is valid and contains the required and optional iTunes tags.

Please help NLO get relisted, or let me know what can be done to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Here's a letter I sent to iTunes. It pretty closesly follows the sample letter but hey, at least it's not the same

To Whom It May Concern,

I am a longtime listener and fan of a podcast named Nobody Likes Onions. Sometime last year the show was removed from the iTunes podcast directory and since that time all efforts by the shows creators and fans to get the show relisted have been disregarded.

Although iTunes is not the only way that podcasts can attract new listeners, it is a nearly vital fan-base that every podcast should be able to tap. I for one was first exposed to this show while it was still listed on iTunes. If I discovered it on iTunes, I am certain that others like me found this podcast and began listening to it directly because of iTunes. As a true fan of this podcast I am genuinely interested in the show's growth and development and I am most disappointed that the show's efforts to be listed on iTunes are constantly denied.

Please allow Nobody Likes Onions to relist on iTunes, or at least give the show and the fans a reason why you will not list it. We would all very much appreciate it.
