Space Camp
This is the movie reviewed in Episode 18: Worst Show Ever, in the segment titled: Ridiculous Movie: Space Camp.
The synopsis of the movie as read on the show:
They turned up for Space Camp, and ended up in space. Zero gravity meets zero fear in this cosmic comedy adventureabout a summer camp where regular kids check in, and real astronauts check out. Starring: Kate Capshaw, Lea Thompson, Kelly Preston, Larry B. Scott, Leaf Phoenix, Tate Donovan. Space Camp is a wild and wonderful thrill packed ride with special effects and spectacular moments, and a gripping climax, that's out of this world. For five typical teens, NASA Space Camp promises to be a fun blow off of the summer, but when a Space Camp shuttle exercise misfires, they fnd themselves launched into orbit facing an adventure of a life time. Now the only way back to Earth is to take command of the ship and control their destinies before time, and oxygen, run out.
Patrick proceeds to pick apart the movie, starting with how unrealistic it is, such as a shuttle would not launch from where Space Camp is, and then also how some Space Camp kids get selected to sit in a real shuttle, while an engine test is performed.
From this movie is where Jinx the robot comes from, which became the NLO email and voicemail robot, to mock Emily from the Starkcast. For the rest of the segment, Patrick and Adam continue to discuss how ridiculous the movie is.
