The WalrusThis is a featured page

Walrus Jim, aka "The Walrus", is an Internet personality. Long-time listeners of the show know him for his website, Zipperfish.com, and his various projects. Among these include now defunct podcasts, such as Zipper Fish Talk Radio (ZFTR), and his flash animations, which can be found on his site. The relationship between Nobody Likes Onions and the Walrus spans most of NLO's lifetime.

And initially, it was an awkward relationship, starting with an email from Jim that was read on the show, but quickly torn up and resulted in Jim being banned from the show. However, after a continued effort from Jim, he established a relationship to NLO. A ZFTR promo was played on the show, and Patrick and Adam began to talk about the Walrus and Zipperfish.com from time to time. Jim made calls into NLO, and Patrick and Adam participated in some of Jim's projects. Adam made a few calls into ZFTR and Patrick had lent his voice, as Cody Pendant, to Jim's animation "Sho Biz Newsy News.” Fans of NLO in this time, particularly those on the forums, saw that there quite a few of crossover fans between NLO and ZFTR. This turned into one of the first topics on the first NLO show that Jim appeared on in-studio, where they made callers "pick a side"; even though they had said it was ridiculous that listeners should have to choose between the podcasts.

After a few guest appearances, Jim's interaction with program continued in more of a "friend of the show" relationship marked by the occasional voicemail or call-in. Indeed, Jim called into the first marathon show with a fill-in-the-lyric style game for the hosts to play. Additionally, Jim made a memorable flash animation as a challenge to Johnny B for the co-host position. As a final example of his contained interaction with the program, the Walrus became a topic of discussion for his comments about the highly successful video game Grand Theft Auto IV.

On Episode 334:Pissing Off Friends, A letter from The Walrus was read regarding the (at the time) recently concluded Vegas meet up. It consisted of Jim overreacting about how he was treated during the trip, and how someone called him creepy. Patrick responded by telling him he was creepy. ("You just finished listening 8 hours ago? How long does it take you to compose a thought?") and confirming that, yes, the show does treat friends that way.
Since then, anything involving someone creepy ussually evokes a Walrus reference.

Later, in Episode 339: Penile Property, Patrick mentioned that Jim sent him an e-mail after 334, consisting of "Yeah, I guess I overreacted. Good show.".
Patrick also said they had to get him in the studio sometime. If Jim does appear on the show, it will have been 200 episodes since his last appearance, on episode 139: The Softer Side.

Outside the program, the Walrus is somewhat of a spectacle to NLO listeners, and others on the internet as well, with some of the ridiculous things he does. The most recent of his projects is what he calls "Down the Tubes", a somewhat disturbing talk show, taking place in his shower. He broadcasts this and other videos, such as him reading Harry Potter books, on Walrus TV. One time, Jim got plastered and stripped nude in front of his webcam. Allegedly.
