It is not clear how Whitmore entered the circle of friends of Nobody Likes Onions hosts and guests. When he was first introduced, he was described as a hardcore local fan, who had placed many NLO stickers and such on his car.

One of the things told about Whitmore is that he has cancer. This, however, appears to be just one of the numerous jokes Patrick plays on the listeners, as he should have died of cancer by now. This story is most likely related to how skinny Whitmore is, particularly in comparison to all of the other show hosts. Another detail given about Whitmore is that his face has been disfigured due to an automobile accident. While the extent of the disfiguration was most likely exaggerated, there are pictures to support the story that he was in fact in an accident.

It has been some time since his last appearance on the show. There was no grand spectacle resulting in his absence, unlike some past guests. According to JB, he is not going to NLOL2008 due to excessive bills needing payment.
